Keeping Up with the Dance Community
For many American’s, COVID-19 hit hard and many lost their jobs in the process. For the dance community teaching was no longer an option because of social distancing. So now that regulations are opening up, what is going on in the dance world.

At the beginning, COVID-19 hit hard for the dance community because many choreographers who’s jobs were to teach in person were lost due to social distancing. Unfortunately, some dancers were no so lucky and got sick from COVID-19. The above dancer is know for his work in many music videos like Justin Bieber. He is well know but is now training his body physically just incase he gets sick again.

Since studios were forced to shut down due to regulations of social distancing they needed a way to stay relevant in the dance community. Steezy Dance studio decided to entertain dancers by doing reverse choreography. Instead of a Choreographer dancing to music, the musician is making music to the dancers moves which is a whole new world to enter for a dancer.
As many during COVID, we are all trying to find something entertaining to do and whats more creative than flipping choreography on its head.

Lets go back in time before Covid, where a group of well known dancers formed a crew called the Kinjaz (Dancing Ninjas). Them were wearing masks before it was mandatory to wear one.
Before they were the only ones who would dance with a mask like the one pictured above. Now a days, dancers are wearing it not as fashion but as protection from the virus.
Now we flash forward to present day where we see dances studios adapting to the times and making sure they stay relevant even under strict conditions. Steezy Dance Studios ( The first picture above) now does full online classes where a dancer can learn their favorite choreography from the comfort of their own home.
Another good example of adapting to the times is Snowglobe Dance Studio (Dancer in yellow pants) took the class room outside into the parking lot in order to follow government regulations.
This is how creative the dance community has been since needing to adapt for the COVID-19 situation. A fully social distance project, that came out pure genius between these three creatives.
Even through the pandemic, the dance community stills stands and continues to grow everyday. Even though classes are not always in person anymore (hopefully classes will comeback soon) dancers will still grow online and be entertain through dance challenges. No matter how times have changed, dance will always be here.
